Wole Adedoyin, the President of Computer Guild of Nigeria (CGN) has advised the current minister of communication, Barr. Adebayo Shittu not to attempt to vie for the governor’s office in 2019 if he does not turn Oyo state into second ICT hub in the country after Lagos before leaving the office.

Mr. Adedoyin said this after the guild’s one day blogging workshop held in Ibadan on Monday.

Computer Guild of Nigeria is an ICT based association founded to bridge the gap between the town and the gown. It was established for computer scientists and ICT practitioners with the national headquarters in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

According to Mr. Adedoyin “Shittu’s appointment has not brought any tangible development in the area of information communication technology in the state. We have not seen any feasible project two years after his appointment. Oyo State is very lucky to be given such juicy position despite the fact that the state currently accommodates the first female Professor of Computer Science in person of Prof. (Mrs.) Nike Osofisan.

“A Communication Minister who cannot use his ministerial position to transform the state that presented him as minister to one of the ICT hubs of the country, what else could that type of minister do if he becomes the governor of the pace setter state? Adedoyin added.
