President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, on his 65th birthday, commending his contributions to governance, democracy, and national development.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described El-Rufai as a resourceful administrator, scholar, and politician who has played a key role in Nigeria’s political landscape.
The President acknowledged El-Rufai’s pivotal contributions to the formation and success of the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting his involvement in dialogues that led to the party’s establishment and its victories in the 2015, 2019, and 2023 general elections.
El-Rufai, a founding member of the APC, served as Kaduna State governor for eight years. Before then, he had held key positions, including Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from 2003 to 2007.
President Tinubu praised the former governor for his dedication to public service, his mentorship of the younger generation, and his efforts in strengthening democracy. He wished El-Rufai good health and strength for continued service to the nation.
