Uwaifo is one of the recently appointed Permanent Secretaries in the federal civil service by His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari. Before his appointment he was the Director Finance and Accounts in the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.

Speaking in his office, Mr. Uwaifo urged the staff of the Federal Ministry of Health to cooperate with him with a view of improving the health of Nigerians.

He pledged to work with partners and all stakeholders in the health sector to ensure that the health agenda of the present administration is on course.

Since his assumption of office, Mr. Uwaifo has been busy with reconciliatory meetings between the Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Ministry of Labor and Employment and National Resident Doctors (NARD) on the ongoing strike by Resident Doctors.
