The Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr. Mustapha Abudullahi, recently received High Chief Dr. Chris IK Onumonu, Deputy Leader of Renewed Hope Global, in his office in Abuja.

This significant meeting followed the successful Night of Honour, Evening of Award, book launch, and official unveiling of Renewed Hope Global at the Presidential Villa Banquet Hall in Abuja.

The focus of the meeting was to explore opportunities for synergising the Energy Commission’s activities with the contributions of Nigerians in the diaspora. Discussions were centered on critical issues such as energy access, energy security, decarbonisation, clean energy supply chains, and reducing methane emissions, particularly in rural communities.

Acknowledging the critical role of the diaspora in national development, the meeting highlighted how their direct and indirect investments are pivotal to achieving sustainable energy solutions in Nigeria.

Dr. Mustapha Abudullahi, known for his proactive and hands-on leadership style, shared insights into the challenges and successes of the Energy Commission under his administration. His extensive experience in the UK has informed his practical approach to addressing complex energy issues and advancing the Commission’s mandate.

During the meeting, Dr. Abudullahi reaffirmed the Energy Commission’s commitment to inclusive development, ensuring that rural areas remain integral to Nigeria’s energy strategy.

High Chief Dr. Chris Onumonu commended the DG’s efforts and reiterated the importance of harnessing the collective strength of Nigerians at home and abroad to drive the nation’s energy transformation agenda.
