Ajayi, candidate of Peoples Democratic Party was defeated by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in all 18 local governments.

Akintokun said the election has been adjudged the freest and fairest conducted by INEC.
He said reports by observers said the results by INEC were in tandem with what they collated from their agents.
According to him, “Agboola Ajayi should not pursue a case at the Election Petition Tribunal. “No reasonable cause of action has arisen to warrant litigation. “My guidance stems from an analysis of the circumstances and transparency surrounding distribution of materials, conduct of the election and announcement of results, which has been adjudged by electorate and observers to be free, fair and credible in the history of electioneering in Nigeria…’’
