Governor Seyi Makinde has reaffirmed his commitment to continuously collaborate with local government administration’s in order to ensure delivery of dividends of democracy to people of Oyo State.

Governor Makinde made the reaffirmation during the opening of the newly constructed Local Government house and training school at the Secretariat.

He described the edifice as beginning of renovations of structures within the state secretariat in other to aid more productivity through provision of conducive environment for workers.

While pointing at lack of maintenance as reason for the dilapidated state of many structures within the state secretariat, Makinde promised to make the working milieu more conducive for civil servants.

Earlier in his welcome address, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Ademola Ojo, charged end users to imbibe good maintenance culture of the edifice.

In their various goodwill messages, Head of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State, Honorable Sikiru Sannda, and Chairman Local Government Staff Pension Board, Honourable Ademola Ige, lauded Governor Makinde’s welfare policies that have improved the life of workers and retirees.

The gigantic project will end tenancy of local government service commission and local government staff pension board at the water corporation building at the secretariat for over 40years.

Conceived in 2007 and flagged off on 5th June, 2020, it comprises of a two storey office complex consisting of 27 rooms on each floor, two conference rooms and 300 capacity auditorium for workshops/seminar.
