Makinde Approves Permanent Staff Status For Ad-hoc Workers

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has approved conversion of ad-hoc staff across Local Government areas in Oyo State into status of permanent staff.

Governor Makinde approved the conversion during the opening of the newly constructed Local Government house and training school at the Secretariat.

The governor said he had directed the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, to come up with modalities for the conversion within four weeks.

Speaking earlier, National President, National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Ambali Olatunji, represented by National Vice-President, South-West zone, of the union, Comrade Abimbola Babalola, urged Makinde to find replacement of retired civil servants of the Ministry.

Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, National and state labour leaders, traditional rulers, government functionaries, and civil servants graced the event.
