The Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council (NDVC) is delighted to announce the release of the revised Diaspora Voting (DV) bill, crafted by a distinguished team of constitutional lawyers led by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. This significant milestone comes ahead of the NDVC leadership’s anticipated visit to the Nigeria National Assembly (NASS) to further advocate for the rights of Nigerians in the Diaspora.

As a reminder, the NDVC Chairman, Prince Ade Omole, who also served as the Diaspora Campaign Director for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, played a pivotal role in securing the President’s approval for the DV advocacy. His extensive consultations, thorough research, and numerous presentations before and during the campaign were instrumental in ensuring that the action plan and manifesto included, among other commendable initiatives, a commitment to collaborate with the National Assembly to amend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Page 72). This amendment aims to ensure inclusive Diaspora representation and participation in all aspects of Nigeria’s democratic process.

It is noteworthy that NDVC’s original Diaspora Voting Bill made history during the ninth assembly, becoming the first of its kind to pass the crucial third reading stage at the National Assembly and secure approval. This was a monumental achievement, especially for Nigerians in the Diaspora, marking a proud moment for us all. Now, as we look to the tenth assembly, the updated bill not only promises to mark an even greater milestone in our nation’s democratic journey but also to bring about transformative progress. With NDVC at the helm, we stand on the cusp of a new era, poised to open a new chapter in Nigeria’s political landscape for citizens in the Diaspora.

For a copy of the revised Diaspora Voting bill, please provide the following details to the undersigned:
