The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele on Tuesday, warned President Bola Tinubu to look for a lasting solution to the unaffordable price of food items if he wants peace in his government.

Primate Ayodele said the Tinubu-led government appears confused on the issue of price reduction because some people are sabotaging it and planning to use it against the present administration.

In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the prophet stated that the president’s current short-term efforts at reducing the price of food will only lead to more hardship if a long-term solution isn’t provided as soon as possible.

He said: “This government doesn’t know what to do regarding the price of food items, they are confused already. They have sabotaged it already against the government and they will turn it into propaganda. Forces will use it to fight the government.

“I see no way of having peace in Tinubu’s government if the price of food commodities continues to skyrocket, there can never be peace because there will be hardship. The government’s approach to create short-term solutions will not work, it will lead to more hardship. People are only being deceived that the prices of commodities have reduced, it’s a lie.’’

The man of God commended individuals and churches that have been assisting the government in alleviating hardship but noted that the government has more to do about it.

‘’Churches and individuals have been trying their best to help the situation and I commend everyone that has participated so far but none can ever replace the government. The government has a lot to do to make it more effective,’’ he said.
