Hardship Protest: 50 Detained In Nasarawa

The Nigeria police have arrested 50 protesters in Nasarawa state for causing unrest in the State during Thursday’s nationwide protest.

The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel disclosed this to Channels Television.

He said they were arrested for attacking police personnel and causing the breakdown of law and order in the state.

He revealed that 25 persons were apprehended in Lafia, 16 in Karu, Six in Keffi, and three in Mararaba-Udege of Nasarawa Local Government Areas respectively.

He added that those arrested are currently in police custody for further interrogation and investigation.

Nansel assured that the police and other security agencies would continue to be professional in handling the protest.

He also warned troublemakers bent on causing mayhem under any guise of protest, to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
