The Oyo State Government has set up Technical and Legal Committees to fashion out home grown solutions for transparency and bridge of lacuna caused by supreme Court judgment on Local Government financial autonomy.

The Committees were set up at a special Consultative committee meeting headed by Governor Seyi Makinde, at the secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

Addressing the issue Governor Makinde, recounted various developmental projects Local Governments had witnessed under his administration.

He also opined that better revenue sharing formula should be the main focus in order to take people out of poverty to prosperity.

Briefing newsmen after the closed door meeting, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Matters, Mr Ademola Ojo admitted that there are challenges that must have lasting solutions in the interest of the people.

Contributing, Commissioner for Justice, Mr Biodun Aikomo, maintained that Governor Makinde is ready to do everything within his capacity to ensure that people of the state are not subject to suffering.

Attendees of the meeting were drawn from various relevant groups, including Association of local government of Nigeria.
