It has come to my knowledge that a purported “APC UK Spring General Meeting” is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, April 13, 2024, and was signed by an “APC UK Media Team.”

I wish to make a categorical disclaimer for historical purposes and to assert that on January 13, 2024, an APC UK Interim Committee was set up, which effectively unified all groups laying claim to APC UK, in which Mr. Tunde Doherty singlehandedly made the chairman and my humble self, the secretary of the Interim Committee. The arrangement, therefore, saddled the secretary with the role of convening meetings, including any general meeting.

It should be noted that the Interim Committee has two executive positions (the Chairman and Secretary). The Interim Committee does not have a Media Council, or whatever name is being given, and certainly does not have any list of “delegates.” Therefore, any notice calling for any meeting, least of all a “Spring General Meeting,” which is not signed by the APC UK Interim Committee Secretary is an unauthorised notice, and such a meeting is null and void. I understand the importance of caucuses in a political organisation and hope the meeting represents one.

All law-abiding members of APC UK are hereby advised to dissociate themselves from this illegal meeting.

Signed:

J. K. Adebola, mnim; mcicn

Secretary

APC UK Interim Committee
