US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby addressed a phone call between US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday.
It was the first discussion between the two world leaders since the killing of aid workers in Gaza on Monday.
Kirby said the US has called for Israel to makes changes to the situation in Gaza in “the coming hours and days”.
