The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) convened an emergency meeting on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to address the progress of the Edo State Governorship Primary Election. After careful consideration of the report, the NWC has determined that the primary election process has not been completed.

In light of this decision, the APC NWC has resolved to fix Thursday, February 22, 2024, as the new date for the completion of the Edo State Governorship Primary Election. This is a crucial step to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process is followed.

The party remains committed to upholding the principles of democracy and adhering to proper procedure in all internal elections. The completion of the primary election process will allow for the selection of a qualified candidate who will represent the APC in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State.

The APC assures all stakeholders, party members, and the public that transparency, fairness, and justice will be at the forefront of the election process. The NWC is taking all necessary measures to conduct a credible and successful primary election.

The APC recognizes the importance of Edo State in the political landscape of Nigeria and remains dedicated to presenting the best candidate as chosen by the party members. We invite party members and the general public to remain patient and supportive during this critical period.
