All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, Mr Adeyemi Ikuforiji has said that both the political class and the electorate must look inward and recommit themselves to the Nigerian project.

The former Speaker stated that every stakeholder had a role to play in taking Nigeria to the ‘promised land’.

“We are moving in the direction we should, though we are not yet where we want to be, so we need to do more and commit ourselves to community building.”

“Virtually every stratum of the society is to be blamed; yesterday, the leaders were wrong, day before yesterday, we complained about the leaders and we are complaining today, I am sure, if we continue this way, we will still complain about the leaders, I think we need to reassess and recommit ourselves because every Nigerian is a leader in one form or the other, if we change our attitude, the right political leadership will emerge,” he explained.

The former Speaker reminded politicians that they will one day give account of their actions and inactions to God whose judgment could not be rigged.

“We should all remember that we will all give account one day, we may rig election here but we cannot definitely rig the judgment of God,” Mr Ikuforiji said.

The Chief Imam of Epe Central Mosque, Alhaji Abdul-Kabir Oriyomi in another interview, reiterated the need for all Nigerians to allow the fear of God to rule their affairs.
