More than 10 governors have arrived in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for the Southern Governors’ Forum meeting at the Presidential Lodge, Ibara Housing.
Leading the early arrivals was Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum, welcomed by host Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Also in attendance are governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Alex Otti (Abia), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Bassey Otu (Cross River), alongside deputy governors Chinyere Ekomaru (Imo), Monday Onyeme (Delta), and Olayide Adelami (Ondo).
The meeting, which marks the first gathering since the passing of former chairman Rotimi Akeredolu in December 2023, is yet to elect a new chairman, with governors from all 17 southern states expected to attend.
