The Oyo State Government has today extend usage of right side of Olodo Bridge to vehicular movement, in fulfillment of promise and to ease burden of road users.
Recall that the state government had on 30th of April, officially opened right side of the bridge to pedestrian.
Commissioner for Public Works and Transportation, Dahud Sangodoyin, while opening the bridge, said completion of right side of Olodo bridge will enhance seamless movement and link connecting Osun state.
According to the commissioner, pavement of the bridge is made up of 200mm thick, 50mm asphaltic binder, and 40mm asphaltic concrete wearing course for it durability.
While speaking, contractor handling the project, Olanrewaju Adeleke, who said the bridge can accommodate three vehicles at once, assured people of the state that second phase would be completed before Christmas.
Some residents who spoke to newsmen expressed delight on the level of work done so far by Oyo state government, saying it has ameliorated their sufferings.
The Olodo Bridge was destroyed by rain on July 23, 2023, thereby causing inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists living in the area.
