DAILY POST learned that the decision was made by a committee comprising former governors and party leaders who reviewed the conduct of two initial aspirants. They deemed it necessary to opt for a neutral person to avoid escalating internal crises.

It was further gathered that the resolutions of the committee, led by former Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, were presented to the Congress of Kogi East Stakeholders.

Other members of the committee who selected Hon. Enemona Anyebe as the PDP consensus candidate for the chairmanship position in Kogi State include Captain Idris Wada, Chief John Odawn, Prince Adejoh Obaje, Haj. Habiba Deen, and Mrs. Ruth Eke Iyaji.

The committee, however, zoned the Zonal Chairmanship position to Ofu Local Government Area, Financial Secretary to Idah Local Government Area, State Publicity Secretary to Dekina Federal Constituency, Assistant Financial Secretary to Bassa Local Government Area, Assistant Legal Adviser to Omala Local Government Area, and Ex-Officio to Ankpa and Ibaji Local Government areas, respectively.

The decision of the committee, according to former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, is aimed at promoting unity and repositioning the party for future success.
