Abandoned Day-Old Baby Boy Rescued In Niger

A day-old baby boy abandoned has been rescued in Tayi area of Minna, the Niger state capital.

The baby, according to a source, was found a few hours after he was abandoned by an unknown person on Saturday evening.

He explained that the baby was wrapped in a leather and left without clothes on him.

He added, “Ants had started crawling on him before he was found. This is the most tragic scene I have ever seen in my life. A capital punishment should be introduced against people that do this.”

The source stated that the umbilical cord was still attached to the baby and was given bathe few hours when he was found.

He lamented that the blood was just washed off the body of the boy and thrown him away.
