Newly sworn-in National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, has promised to provide bold and strategic leadership to reposition the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking on Politics Today on Channels TV shortly after his inauguration at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Yilwatda pledged to take “tough decisions with gentility and teamwork,” drawing inspiration from President Bola Tinubu’s calm but decisive style of governance.

“My job is to unite and expand the APC. We have 23 governors, and we are still counting,” he said, hinting at plans to woo governors from opposition parties into the party’s fold.

The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs also said he would lean on the experience of past APC leaders like Abdullahi Ganduje, Adams Oshiomhole, and Mai Mala Buni to strengthen internal cohesion and rally support for the party’s agenda.

He reiterated his immediate priority is party unity and ensuring full implementation of the APC manifesto nationwide.

Yilwatda, who contested the Plateau governorship seat in 2023, said his emergence was a call to action, and that he would approach his duties with clarity, humility, and strategic intent.
