Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward A4, Epe, Lagos State, have kicked against the imposition of candidates during the APC primary elections for intending Local Government chairmen and councillors in the state.

Report indicated that on Friday, the members kicked against the primary which held at the Local Government secretariat, Epe, where another candidate who came a distant second was declared winner by the party.

The aggrieved party members pointed accusing fingers at a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikúforiji, over his alleged interference at the primary.

In a petition addressed to the Chairman, Appeal Committee, APC Primary Election, Lagos State, and signed by the aggrieved candidate, Tukuru Ibrahim, he urged the appeal committee to vet video evidences and ballot papers at the council area to verify the polls results.

“We are joining the plethora of protesting party members in the aftermath the Lagos State APC primary election. Our poll was captured on video, with video evidence showing clearly that Tukuru Ibrahim polled 16 votes, Badara Wasiu polled 6 votes and Shittu Kehinde polled nil,” a party source in Epe disclosed.

“We the APC members however got the greatest shock of our lives when the candidate that came a distant 2nd with 6 votes, Badara Wasiu, compared to that of Tukuru Ibrahim, was declared winner at the Acme road, APC Secretariat. We will not take this. We urge the APC commitee to consider the evidences,” the staunch party member said.
