Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection was confirmed by the Delta State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, in a video statement made available on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Dr. Osuoza described the move as a “very important” decision aimed at aligning the state with the progressive vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Moving out of the PDP was very important for His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, to align with the progressive vision of the APC and President Tinubu,” the commissioner said.
He added that the governor’s decision followed wide consultations with key political stakeholders across the state.
