Upon arrival at the Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport, the group was received with full diplomatic honours, including an inspection of a Guard of Honour.
Hon. Oke’s participation in this event emphasizes his significant role in fostering international relations and cooperation, particularly within West Africa.
His presence alongside Vice President Shettima underscores Nigeria’s commitment to regional unity and diplomatic ties with Senegal.

The Independence Day celebrations, scheduled for today, April 4, at the Place de la Nation in Dakar, will feature a range of ceremonies, parades, and cultural events commemorating Senegal’s independence from French colonial rule in 1960.
Hon. Oke’s involvement in this event highlights his dedication to strengthening bilateral relationships and promoting regional cooperation in West Africa.

Meanwhile, there has been uproar in Hon Oke’s constituency over his plan to represent them for the sixth term thereby extending his representation to 24 years in the lower house. The attempt has met with resistance from both the constituents and the state government which has lately become a subject of discussion across the state’s political space.
