No fewer than 2,000 women groups across the 179 communities in Anambra State have endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election.

The endorsement came at the 2025 Anambra State Women Summit, convened by the state Women Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Esther Onyekesi.

The event, held on Wednesday at APGA’s South-East Regional Office in Awka, had the theme ‘Together We Rise: Achieving the Best Through Women’ and was attended by the state Chairman of APGA, Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Ndidi Mezue, and party supporters.

Speaking at the event, Onyekesi said the women, drawn from various backgrounds and political affiliations, were backing Soludo to enable him to complete his development projects across the state.

She said, “We are adopting Governor Chukwuma Soludo as our sole candidate because of his achievements in just two years and 11 months in office.

“Soludo has done tremendously well in all sectors, particularly in health and security. Today, every pregnant woman in Anambra State, regardless of tribe or religion, receives free antenatal care in government hospitals.

“Our children enjoy free education, insecurity has reduced significantly, and our youths are benefiting from the One Youth, Two Skills programme, which provides them with free training and empowerment.”

Onyekesi urged other governorship aspirants to step down for Soludo, saying his Vision 2070 of making Anambra a clean, green, peaceful, and prosperous state should be allowed to materialize.

Speaking at the event, Soludo’s wife, Nonye Soludo, described the administration’s strides in women empowerment as phenomenal, noting that it has significantly improved the lives of women in the state.

She thanked the women for their support and assured them that the administration would remain committed to advancing their welfare.

“The turnout at this summit speaks volumes about your approval of my husband’s development agenda. Women are nation builders, and we will continue to prioritise policies that uplift you,” she said.
