The lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Oluwole Oke has fully funded the examination fees for 111 final-year students of the Government Technical College (GTC), Ijeda/Ijebu-Jesa.

The sponsorship covers the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) exams, Trade Test certifications, Diploma Examinations, and school levies.

In a statement released by his public and media unit on Monday, the sponsorship is aside from payments for Year 1 and Year 2 in the college and other 8 colleges across the state.

“This initiative builds on Oke’s earlier support for first- and second-year students at the college and extends to eight (8) other Technical Colleges across the state. His efforts underscore a consistent dedication to fostering technical education and empowering students with the skills needed for future success.

“The scholarship covers the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) tests, Trade Test, and Diploma Examinations, ensuring that these students can focus on their academic and vocational aspirations without financial barriers.

“Over the past five years, his scholarship program has consistently empowered students with technical skills, fostering self-reliance, job creation, and poverty alleviation.

“This is with a view to advance job creation, self-reliance, and skill acquisitions that will reduce overall unemployment, alleviate poverty, and foster empowerment.

“By prioritizing skill acquisition and vocational training, Hon. Oke aims to reduce unemployment and equip young people with the right tools to become job creators and independent contributors to the economy. His efforts underscore a vision of sustainable development through education and empowerment,” parts of the statement read.
