Former Zamfara Central Senator Kabiru Marafa, who once served as a key campaign coordinator for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has warned that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could lose as many as one million votes in the 2027 general elections if grievances in the North-West remain unresolved.

Marafa, a long-standing political figure in Zamfara State, accused the APC of sidelining loyal supporters after the 2023 victory. Speaking in Gusau, he said the party’s internal disputes, if left unchecked, might fuel voter apathy or outright defection in the coming polls.

“Those who stood firm during the last election are now abandoned. If this trend continues, the North-West alone could withdraw up to one million votes in 2027,” Marafa stated.

The former senator, known for his close alignment with Tinubu during the last presidential campaign, said reconciliation and inclusion are urgent if the APC intends to retain its strongholds. He urged the president to intervene directly to heal divisions before opposition parties exploit the cracks.
