The President was in Yokohama, Japan, for the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), where he joined other African leaders for the opening ceremony and plenary sessions. He also held bilateral talks and later met with members of the Nigerian community in Japan.

After the summit, Tinubu made a brief stop in Los Angeles before heading to Brazil. In Brasília, he met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and other top government officials. Both leaders held private discussions and witnessed the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding covering aviation, foreign affairs, agriculture, and science and technology.

According to the Presidency, the agreements are expected to boost cooperation in key sectors of Nigeria’s development drive.

The President was received on arrival in Abuja by top government officials and dignitaries.
