The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ordered the arrest of Olakunle Alex Folarin, a dismissed staff of the agency, after he appeared on comedian Lege Miami’s popular matchmaking show.
Folarin, who worked as a driver at the Ibadan zonal office, had earlier been sacked for certificate forgery. His sudden appearance on Lege Miami’s Instagram Live show drew wide public attention and prompted EFCC headquarters to issue a statement on Monday.
According to EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the former staff not only forged his certificate but also withheld official property, including his staff identity card, after dismissal.
“The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered his arrest for being in possession of some Commission’s properties, including an identity card, which he should have handed over upon being dismissed,” the statement said.
The agency cautioned the public not to associate Folarin’s conduct with the EFCC, stressing that his case was an act of personal misconduct.
