The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction of three additional suspects arrested during its raid on the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The latest ruling, delivered Monday by Justice Deinde Dipeolu of the Federal High Court, Lagos, comes days after four others nabbed at a hotel within the OOPL premises were convicted, bringing the total number of convictions from the sting operation to seven.
The convicts —Adenekan Ayinde, Oyatokun Qudus, and Adisa Okikiade — were among 93 suspects picked up on August 10, 2025, when EFCC operatives stormed a pool party allegedly organised to celebrate their fraudulent activities.
Ayinde admitted impersonating an American woman through a Google account, paying ₦200,000 restitution to his victim. He was sentenced to one month in prison with the option of a ₦300,000 fine, while his iPhone 14 Pro Max was tendered as evidence.
Qudus, who posed as “Eric Melissa” on Instagram to defraud unsuspecting victims, received the same one-month sentence with an option of a ₦300,000 fine.
Okikiade was found guilty of impersonating “Anthony Krenn” on Google for unlawful gain and was equally sentenced after pleading guilty.
EFCC prosecutor, Saadatu Yabo, said the agency would continue prosecuting the remaining suspects “in batches” until all 93 arrested at the OOPL raid face trial.
