Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), faces backlash from Nigerians over his remark about late Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola which is adjudged by many as “reckless” and demeaning to the reputable name of the late prominent Christian minister.

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo known for his unsavoury perceptions on issues of public interest, pointed out that the founder of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), late Joseph Ayo Babalola was indeed anointed by God and manifested God’s announcing on him but that he failed to use the said anointing to make money.

Reacting to the remark by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, media aide to Delta State government, Osai Ovie Success, through his Facebook page, called on pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo to publicly apologize to late Pastor Joseph Ayo Babalola. He claimed that his remark is disrespectful and demeaning to pastor Babalola’s enduring legacy and ministry of holiness.

He argued that whereas pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo is more interested in prosperity and wealth, pastor Joseph Ayo Babalola preached holiness and the kingdom of God inline with Christ’s gospel of the resurrection and rapture.

He pointed out that the ministry and legacy of apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola which is built on holiness and the kingdom of God will outlive pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo prosperity centred ministry.

Osai Ovie Success wrote: Pastor Biodun should apologize to apostle Babalola because I am disappointed in him.

I’m disappointed in Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo’s comments about Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola.

He said, “Apostle Babalola of Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria CAC was heavily anointed but had no money, so all the grace just went like that.”

This statement is disappointing and suggests that Pastor Biodun prioritizes wealth over spiritual legacy.

Despite Pastor Biodun’s wealth, he’ll never come close to Apostle Babalola’s enduring legacy.

Apostle Babalola’s message of accountability, holiness, and purpose beyond material gain is the true message of Jesus Christ.

I’m afraid Pastor Biodun’s prosperity message will fade away when he’s gone, but Apostle Babalola’s legacy will continue to inspire generations.

The prosperity gospel has done more harm than good to many Christians in Nigeria.

I think Pastor Biodun of Coza should apologize to Apostle Babalola for his comments and reconsider his approach to preaching.
