A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress Delta State chapter, Prof Leroy Edozien, has called on the new National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, to bring in discipline, integrity, and creative thinking as usual in academia to bear in the party.

Edozien gave the admonition on Saturday in his congratulatory message to the new National Chairman of the party, who emerged after the party NEC held recently in Abuja.

He said, “I congratulate Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda on his assumption of office as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

“I am particularly delighted that this key position that is cherished by career politicians has gone to a technocrat. As an academic myself, I am also delighted that a colleague in academia has been charged with the responsibility of leading our party.

“My big hope is that Prof Yilwatda will represent our constituency creditably. Success in academia usually goes with discipline, integrity, and creative thinking. Our country and our political parties desperately need these attributes, which are critical to progressive politics.

“Nentawa Yilwatda, please bring these on board; don’t leave them behind in your old office, and don’t allow mercantile politicians to dilute your commitment to these values.

“Quite often, academics and technocrats in government and in political appointments have failed to live up to expectations. May Prof Yilwatda redeem our battered reputation”
