Former Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Diaspora Directorate and governance advocate, Prince Ade Omole, has called on the leadership of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) to embrace deep, purposeful reform that directly improves the lives of Nigerians.

Delivering a compelling goodwill message on Day Two of the ECN Management Retreat in Abuja, Omole described the event as “a chance to rethink, reform, and realign the ECN with the bold vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”

The two-day retreat, held at BON Hotel Octagon,Abuja brought together the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, ECN’s Director-General/CEO Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, and the Commission’s top management, directors, and policy experts. The sessions focused on public sector reforms and the pending ECN Act Amendment Bill.

Prince Omole, who played a key role in crafting the Renewed Hope Action Plan, emphasized that the success of energy reforms must be measured by their impact on everyday Nigerians.

“We must deliver outcomes that light up homes, power industries, and improve lives. That is what this moment demands,” he stated.

He acknowledged the difficulty of implementing institutional reforms but insisted that Nigeria’s energy future depended on staying the course.

“This retreat is not just a technical gathering it is a national moment. It must lead to action, not just paperwork,” he said.

In his response, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, DG of ECN, commended Prince Omole’s longstanding support and assured him that the Commission remained fully committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We’re not derailing from the vision. From policy to implementation such as our solar mini-grid installations across health and education institutions we are aligning ECN’s work with national goals,” the DG said.
