The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reportedly resigned from his position, citing health concerns.
Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, tendered his resignation with immediate effect, according to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.
Ahmad wrote: “The National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned from his position, effective immediately, as confirmed by multiple sources.”
As of the time of filing this report, the APC is yet to issue an official statement confirming the development. However, the report has sparked reactions across political circles, especially within the ruling party.
Ganduje had assumed the national chairmanship of the APC in August 2023 following the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
