Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to host a crucial stakeholders’ parley with leaders and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the July 12 local council elections.

The meeting, scheduled to hold on Monday, June 24, at the State House, Marina by 12 noon, will bring together elected and appointed officials, as well as all chairmanship candidates contesting under the APC platform across the 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas of the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, described the engagement as a “strategic mobilisation” aimed at galvanising support across the state for the party’s candidates.

Oladejo noted that the APC is confident of achieving a resounding victory at the polls, citing the party’s longstanding track record of delivering development and good governance at both the state and council levels.

“The gathering provides an opportunity to consolidate our base, review our strategies, and reinforce the collective message of progress and continuity,” the statement read.

He added that the electorate in Lagos have continued to demonstrate trust in the party due to its developmental strides, pointing to achievements in education, healthcare, housing, and grassroots empowerment by the local councils.

“With the visible and measurable impact of APC-led councils in the lives of ordinary Lagosians, we are confident that the electorate will once again reward the party with massive support,” Oladejo stated.

The stakeholders’ meeting is expected to solidify last-mile preparations for the council elections, seen as critical to grassroots governance and political consolidation in Nigeria’s commercial capital.
