Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development and energy efficiency on the global stage as the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, and diaspora investment leader, Prince Ade Omole, participated in the 2025 World Refrigeration Day event held in Paris, France.

The event, which took place at Les Salons Hoche on June 18, brought together leaders and experts from around the world to explore the future of refrigeration technologies and their role in addressing global challenges.

Dr. Abdullahi, who delivered Nigeria’s keynote presentation, emphasized the country’s strategic push for innovation in refrigeration as part of broader national efforts to improve food preservation, healthcare, and energy use.

“From preserving food and vaccines to reducing energy waste, efficient cooling solutions are central to our national development goals, particularly under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the ECN boss said.

The Nigerian delegation’s participation underlined the importance of global collaboration in addressing climate change and achieving energy sustainability.

The session, moderated by international energy expert Dr. Mariana Castaño, featured contributions from representatives of France, Senegal, Kuwait, India, and the European Commission, who shared experiences and challenges in scaling sustainable refrigeration.
