Chairman of the Renewed Hope Global, Ambassador J.K. Adebola, has condemned the recent mass killing of over 100 persons in the Yelewata and Daudu communities of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, describing the incident as “gruesome and senseless.”

In a statement released on Sunday, Adebola expressed deep sorrow over the scale of the attack, which included the burning of shelters belonging to internally displaced persons (IDPs). He described the incident as a “chilling reminder” of the urgent need to address insecurity, particularly in border communities.

“We are deeply heartbroken… This is a wake-up call. The pattern of repeated attacks in the same area within a week is unacceptable. We must break the cycle,” the statement read.

While mourning the victims, including gallant soldiers who died during the attack, Adebola commended the swift response of the Nigerian Army, the Police, and the Operation Whirl Stroke team. He praised their bravery and urged them to remain resolute in tracking down the perpetrators.

He called on the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, to initiate an immediate and thorough investigation, insisting that those behind the attack must be brought to justice.

“There must be no hiding place for terrorists, bandits, or their sponsors,” he stated.

Renewed Hope Global also appealed to the Federal Government, Benue State Government, and humanitarian agencies to mobilise relief efforts for survivors and displaced persons affected by the incident.

“Rebuilding their lives and restoring their dignity must begin now,” the group added.

Adebola encouraged Nigerians not to despair, affirming that despite the tragedy, hope remains alive.

“Let the bloodshed end. Let accountability begin. And let our nation rise, stronger and more united than ever before,” the statement read
