A heart-wrenching tragedy has struck the Limawa area of Minna, Niger State, where a pregnant woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband. The horrific incident has left the community in deep shock and mourning.

Eyewitnesses and neighbors reported hearing desperate screams coming from the couple’s residence late in the evening. Sadly, by the time help arrived, it was too late. The woman, whose identity has yet to be officially confirmed, was found lifeless — a chilling end to what should have been a time of hope and new beginnings.

Residents described the scene as devastating. Many stood in disbelief, mourning a life lost too soon — and the life of an unborn child that will never be known.

According to those close to the victim, the suspect had a history of domestic abuse. The grieving father of the deceased said:

“This is not the first time he laid hands on my daughter. We warned him many times, but he never stopped. Now, he has killed her.”

The suspect has since been arrested and is in police custody as investigations are underway.

This tragic loss has reignited urgent calls for action against domestic violence, which continues to claim lives across Nigeria. Human rights advocates and community leaders are demanding swift justice and stronger legal protections for women trapped in abusive marriages.

As the Limawa community grapples with this painful loss, the nation is once again reminded of the critical need to address gender-based violence before more lives are gone already.
