The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Wednesday night, donated a sum of N100 million through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to support the Five Cowries Arts Education Initiative—an investment aimed at expanding creative education for children across the country.

The announcement was made at a charity gala night hosted by the Spouses of Heads of Mission in Nigeria, held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja. The event was organised to raise funds in support of arts-based educational programmes that promote creativity and cultural learning among Nigerian youth.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Tinubu said the donation was part of RHI’s commitment to empowering the next generation through transformative learning platforms.

“On behalf of the Renewed Hope Initiative, we pledge N100 million to support the Five Cowries Arts Education Initiative,” the First Lady announced. “Your support will help unlock the creativity, talent, and potential of countless Nigerian children who deserve the opportunity to thrive and succeed.”

The Five Cowries project uses visual arts and storytelling to enrich classroom learning, particularly in underserved communities. The donation is expected to broaden its reach and impact in fostering innovation and self-expression among children.

The event drew dignitaries, foreign mission representatives, and development partners, many of whom praised the First Lady’s philanthropic gesture as a timely intervention in the country’s education and cultural development space.
