The member of the House of Representatives representing Kaura Namoda/ Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency of Zamfara State Hon.Aminu Sanni Jaji has decried the state of insecurity in the constituency and entire state and has called for support to the state government and collective action by all stakeholders to tackle the menace.
The lawmaker who was a former chairman of the House Committee on National Security and Intelligence made the appeal on Wednesday during a press conference on the issue at the National Assembly Abuja

He lamented that Zamfara State which prides itself as one of the most peaceful states in the country is now a shadow of itself as bandits and other criminals have taken over the state.

He expressed deep worries that many communities had been ravaged by bandits and there were still some communities that are being held hostage by these dare devil criminal elements.

He said: “Just a few days ago, some of my constituents in Banga were abducted and the abductors demanded N30 million before their release”

“I feel that we ‘ve failed in our primary responsibility to protect lives and properties of our constituents and other citizens”

He also lamented that the way the bandits are killing the security agents and other security personnel recruited by the state government to tackle the challenge is worrisome

The lawmaker said that today the state is so much devasted such that nobody can go to his or her farm freely in the state adding it had affected the economy of the state very negativity.

While calling for support to the state government on the ravaging state of insecurity in Zamfara State, he said that we cannot have a robust economy without adequate security.

He added that all the state government, federal and state lawmakers and all relevant stakeholders should leave no stone unturned in the task of rescuing the state from these criminals.
