Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has described the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Anambra State as a historic turning point, noting that it marked the first time in over a decade that a sitting Nigerian president had visited the state to commission development projects.

“The last time a president visited for a commissioning was in 2012 for a brewery,” Soludo remarked during the ceremonies. “But today, the president is here to commission roads spanning several kilometers, flyovers, a government house, and more.”

President Tinubu, on a one-day working visit to the South-East state, officially commissioned a range of legacy projects executed under the Soludo administration. These included the newly completed Anambra Government House—an iconic project completed over three decades after the state’s creation in 1991—signifying a new era of administrative order and infrastructure.

The president also inaugurated the Emeka Anyaoku Institute of International Studies and Diplomacy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, a center aimed at fostering global diplomatic scholarship. Another major highlight of the day was the commissioning of the Solution Fun City, a multi-purpose recreational and tourism complex that houses the Anambra Country Club, Family Fun House, Water Park, and an Amusement Park.

In a show of cultural appreciation and honor, President Tinubu was also conferred with a traditional chieftaincy title by Anambra monarchs. He was bestowed the title of “Dike Si-mba of Anambra”, meaning “The Mighty Warrior from Outside”, in recognition of his leadership and contribution to national development.
