In a message signed by Ambassador Joseph Kolawole Adebola, Esq., MNIM, MCICN, Chairman of Renewed Hope United Kingdom and Chief Host of the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference, the platform praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold steps toward improving workers’ welfare, including the implementation of a new minimum wage and the increase in NYSC corps members’ allowance.

According to the statement, “This year’s May Day celebration carries renewed significance. President Tinubu’s administration has taken clear steps to restore dignity to the Nigerian workforce by recently approving a revised minimum wage structure and enhancing NYSC stipends. These are encouraging signs of a government that listens.”

The statement further described Nigerian workers as the “engine room of national productivity,” acknowledging their sacrifices in building the nation despite economic challenges. It also extended special recognition to youth corps members, who continue to serve across the country with patriotism and courage.

The Renewed Hope Global Platform reiterated its commitment to amplifying citizen voices, bridging the gap between the government and the people, and promoting inclusive development policies.

“As a global civic engagement platform, we will continue to support reforms that reflect equity, opportunity, and justice for all. Workers’ welfare is at the heart of national growth, and we commend the Federal Government for moving in the right direction,” the statement added.

Ambassador Adebola also called on state governments and private-sector employers to support the spirit of the new wage reforms and ensure the fair treatment of employees across all sectors.

He further urges Nigerian workers not to lose hope, assuring them that the Renewed Hope Agenda is gradually translating into real benefits through progressive policy actions.
