Former Delta State Governor and 2023 vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has informed his constituents of his imminent departure from the party, signalling a likely move to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a video that has surfaced online, Okowa was seen addressing his supporters, assuring them that the decision to switch parties was carefully considered and made in their best interest.

“Be assured that we will not go in the wrong direction; we will take the best direction, the best path for our people,” Okowa said, hinting at a new political alignment without explicitly naming the APC.

The development has increased speculation about a wider political shift in Delta State, especially after Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s cabinet was seen singing President Bola Tinubu’s ‘on your mandate’ song.
