The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr. Aisha Garba, has said that the Commission’s digital transformation is closing the learning gap between rural and urban communities across Nigeria.

Dr. Garba made this known during her appearance as the special guest at the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference, where she outlined the strategic education reforms being championed under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking on the theme of inclusive and technology-driven basic education, she revealed that UBEC is investing in digital infrastructure and teacher capacity building, emphasising transparency and equitable access.

According to her, the Commission has intensified collaboration with state governments, SUBEBs, and development partners to ensure that no child is left behind, regardless of location.

“We are bridging the digital divide in underserved communities by equipping schools with the right tools and ensuring our teachers can use technology effectively. Basic education is at the heart of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and UBEC is delivering on this vision,” she stated.

The education chief disclosed that billions of naira have been allocated to schools and teachers nationwide to support foundational learning, with accountability mechanisms put in place to track results.

She also noted that Diaspora stakeholders and tech innovators are being encouraged to contribute to UBEC’s digital expansion efforts.

Dr. Garba, who has previously worked with global development institutions, explained that her reforms are anchored on measurable outcomes and data-driven policies to rebuild public confidence in the education sector.

The event was monitored by senior officials in the Presidential Villa, in what has become a consistent endorsement of the weekly parley. Sources confirmed that the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference is now followed closely by key figures in the Tinubu administration as a policy feedback mechanism.

In response to her presentation, participants flooded the chatroom and social media platforms with commendations. One attendee remarked, “Dr. Garba’s delivery showed deep leadership and a clear strategy for transformation.” Another added, “The effort to reach rural learners through tech is timely. This is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs.”

Other feedback described the session as “inspiring,” “forward-thinking,” and “evidence of real progress under President Tinubu.”

Chairman and Chief Host of the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference, Ambassador Joseph Kolawole Adebola Esq., MNIM, MCICN, thanked Dr Garba for her brilliant insights and praised her dedication to revamping Nigeria’s basic education framework.

Amb. Adebola also noted that the policies of the Renewed Hope administration are beginning to yield positive results, adding that the platform remains committed to promoting government-citizen engagement, civic responsibility, and national progress through dialogue and transparency.

The Renewed Hope Global initiative continues to amplify the achievements of the Tinubu administration while encouraging unity, patriotism, and shared responsibility among Nigerians at home and abroad.
