Uriel Oputa, a former Big Brother Naija housemate who has been documenting her fitness journey online, including fasting daily until 6pm, says the practice has increased her libido.

Explaining her motivation for starting the regimen, she told Saturday Beats, “I started fasting last summer but then, I would break my fast by midday. It started because I was having digestive issues and I couldn’t figure out why I had that problem because I eat healthily. I also wasn’t stooling as frequently as I should. So, I wanted to reset my digestive system and in order for me to do that, I decided to take my fasting to the next level, which was eating by 6pm daily, and it has been working so far. I also wanted to get healthier and lose some pounds for summer.”

Discussing other changes she has observed due to her fasting, she remarked, “I have noticed an impact on my brain health; I am sharper cognitively. My bowel movements have become more regular too. While I’ve always had a high libido, it has increased even more.”

Addressing critics who complain about her dressing, Uriel said, “I am still very young and not an old woman. Besides, dressing well or terriblly is not determined by age. As long as I work hard for my body and my skin is ‘popping’, nobody has the right to tell me how to dress. You cannot tell me that because I have passed the age of 20, I must dress a certain way. When I go to the gym, I wear bum shorts because I love my body and work hard for it. Nobody has the right to dictate how I live my life or who I date. Some people even insult me over my lipstick combination, and I do not care. I have bigger things to worry about, like my brands and thinking of making millions in a day. I will dress how I want, and I am not trying to attract the same kind of guys they are after. I don’t like flashy guys; I prefer simple, intelligent ones.”
