The ruling, the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, announced that its national secretariat would be shut down over the killing of the party’s director of administration, Lateef Adekunle Adeniji by his abductors.

In a memo signed by deputy director of administration, Ubagba Abel and issued to staff of the secretariat and members of the party, the APC said the building will be shut down until Monday, April 14, to mourn the passing of Adeniji.

The late Adeniji was said to have been kidnapped by his captors about two months ago in Abuja and was killed despite the payment of N50 million by the party.

The memo read, “Secretariat closure for the mourning of the director of administration’, advised all the staff to use the period of mourning for sober reflection and prayers for the family and the loved ones.

“The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National secretariat from all party/work activities with immidiate effect till Monday 14th April 2025,” it said.

The management of the secretariat also said it decided to shut down the building following the news of the death of the Director of Administration.
