Senator Mudasiru Oyetunde Husain is a man of experience and proven leadership, and his track record makes him well-suited to lead Osun State as governor. With years of service in different political roles, he understands the needs of the people and can bring about the change Osun State requires; these were the submissions of the Osun Progressives Union (OPU) in a statement made available to the press over the weekend.

OPU stated that Sen. Husain’s political journey began in Lagos, where he served as a member of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2007. During this time, he made his mark by pushing for better accountability in government spending. He questioned the N360 million spent on demolishing toll gates and worked towards the better management of the nation’s resources. His actions showed his commitment to transparency, a quality that is crucial for any leader.

According to the Chairman of Osun Progressives Union, Mr Jacob Ogunseye; in 2011, Hussein was elected as Senator for Osun West. His time in the Senate allowed him to focus on issues that directly impacted his people. He worked on various bills and always advocated for the improvement of the region. The Enigma remained a key player in Osun politics, making him a leader who understands both the local and national political landscape.

Hussain’s political journey did not stop at the Senate. In 2023, he was reappointed as the Federal Commissioner for Osun State in the National Population Commission.

Husain’s wealth of experience in both legislative and administrative roles makes him the right choice to lead Osun State. If the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, is not contesting, He knows how to manage resources, develop policies that benefit the people, and ensure transparency in governance.

Senator Mudasiru Oyetunde Husain has the experience, the skills, and the vision needed to make Osun State better. His long history of public service shows he is dedicated to his people, and his leadership will help move Osun forward. The time for a change in Osun is now, and Husain represents the future we’ve waiting for, the statement concluded.
