The family in a statement confirmed his death, stating that his Janazah details will be announced in due course.

Oladunjoye was a former chairman of Ijebu East Local Government.

He was also the running mate of the General Tunji Olurin in the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.

In 2023, Ogun Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun appointed Oladunjoye, as his Senior Consultant on Media.

Oladunjoye was also the assistant publicity secretary of the Directorate of Strategic Communications of the APC-Presidential Campaign Council for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and a member of the publicity committee of the APC presidential primary.

With a bias for arts, social policy, politics, human rights reporting and media advocacy, Oladunjoye, for several years, covered the biggest film festival in the world, the Cannes Film Festival, Cannes, France.

He also covered the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, the Nigeria’s Eminent Persons Agricultural Summit hosted in Geneva 2013 by President Goodluck Jonathan and the World Hunger Summit hosted by the United Kingdom in 2013.

He was part of the presidential delegation to the World Economic Forum in Switzerland in 2013.

He was appointed by the Federal Government into the strategic media communication committee of the Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA) in 2012 and later as Media Adviser to former Minister for Agriculture, Akinwumi Adesina, between 2012 and 2014 before taking up another appointment as national media consultant to the World Bank/FGN project on FADAMA III Additional Financing Project between 2016 and 2018.

Oladunjoye served as board member, Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation; member, Governing Council of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED); chairman, Ogun State Television (OGTV); member, Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic, Ukanna, Akwa Ibom State and member Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

The Ijebu Youths Association in its condolence message, described him as a champion of progress, who tirelessly advocated for the betterment of Ijebu land.

It said: “The demise of Hon. Tunde Oladunjoye is a significant loss to our community. His generosity and kindness earned him respect and admiration from the people.

“We pray that Almighty God grants the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May his legacy continue to inspire and motivate us to strive for excellence.”

Ogun Governor described the death of Oladunjoye, as a terrible loss.

Abiodun, who said he received news of the demise of the erudite spokesman and chief consultant to the Ogun State Government with disbelief and shock, expressed deep sorrow that the dynamic, loyal and committed politician died in the prime of youth.

He described the deceased as a forthright, down to earth, consummate politician who always stood gallantly and unwaveringly by any cause he believed in, adding that he was a stabilising factor, both in Ogun APC and in government circles.
