During her visit, Owoade also emphasised the importance of peace, unity, and communal harmony as vital components for the development of the city and society at large.

She stressed that the people of Ibadan must take collective responsibility in promoting peace to foster a harmonious environment.

In a statement issued by Bode Durojaiye, the Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin, Owoade highlighted that peace is not only essential for community development but also for building robust institutions.

“Peace creates an enabling environment for human capital formation and infrastructural development. Now is the time to build a sustainable and united community. We must discard all acts that hinder harmonious relationships,” Owoade remarked.

She continued, emphasising that peace is a fundamental asset for personal and collective growth.

“Throughout history, unity has always proven to be transformative. Embracing unity is not just an ideal but a pragmatic necessity,” she stated.

In addition, she reminded the public of one of the core principles of Alaafin Owoade: recognising our shared humanity while appreciating our differences. She encouraged dialogue, respect, and empathy to foster collaborative efforts and overcome challenges.

“By working together and standing united, we can achieve greater successes and create a better future for ourselves and our communities,” Owoade stated.
