The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has called on the South East to show appreciation for President Bola Tinubu’s administration by delivering 100% of their votes to him in the 2027 elections.

He made this appeal while inspecting the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Umuahia-Aba Section II of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.

Umahi praised the President for prioritizing infrastructure development in the region, stating that Tinubu has accomplished more for the South East than previous administrations.

He assured that the road project, which is included in the 2024 and 2025 budgets, has been fully funded.

According to him, the remaining 2km of earthwork and 4km of asphalt work will be completed by June 2025, with the road set for inauguration soon after.

“The entire South East must give Mr. President 100% of their votes in the 2027 elections to appreciate him,” Umahi declared. “I am the one fit to ask for your votes because he has used me to work for you.”

The Minister’s remarks underscore the administration’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure in the South East, which he believes will contribute significantly to the region’s economic development.
