PSC Appoints Moshood Jimoh As Lagos CP

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State Command.

The decision was made today during a meeting of the commission.

Prior to this appointment, CP Jimoh served as the Commissioner of Police for Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.

A seasoned law enforcement officer, he has held various strategic positions within the Nigeria Police Force, including Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Airport Police, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner for General Investigation.

Jimoh, a native of Kwara State, has undergone extensive professional training both locally and internationally.

His credentials include specialized courses in combat operations at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri, participation in the African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan, and advanced counterterrorism training at the Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasure First Responder Training Institute in the United States.

He has also attended executive leadership programs in China, including training on social construction and management reform at the China Executive Leadership Academy in Pudong, as well as maritime rescue and salvage training at the China Maritime Academy in Ningbo.

Additionally, he has trained in anti-hijacking techniques at the Yunnan Police College in Kunming, China, and attended the Police Training Institute in Seoul, South Korea.

His contributions to public relations within law enforcement have been widely recognized.

He is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year, an honor bestowed by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in acknowledgment of his exemplary leadership and commitment to the field.

CP Jimoh’s appointment was confirmed following his appearance before the PSC today. The session was chaired by the Commission’s Chairman, DIG (rtd) Hashimu Argungu, mni. Also in attendance were Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje (rtd), Honourable Commissioner representing the Judiciary, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu, fdc, Honourable Commissioner representing the Police.

With his vast experience and professional expertise, CP Jimoh is expected to bring dynamic leadership to the Lagos State Police Command, strengthening security operations and fostering better community relations in the state.
